(June 15, 2023) Petty Officer 1st Class Cassandra Begay, fourth from left, a Navy Reserve builder and battalion safety officer assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 18 based on Naval Base Ventura County in Port Hueneme, California, explains construction aspects of a newly built home to visiting leadership as part of a charitable contribution and training opportunity in partnership with the Southwest Indian Foundation. The home's construction served to educate Seabees in various practical construction techniques needed for mission readiness while fulfilling the needs of a community partner as part of the Department of Defense's Innovative Readiness Training (IRT) program.
