    CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA (July 23, 2023) Cdr. Will Ashley, and Cdr. Bobby Barber, commanding officers of the Blue and Gold crews from the Independence-variant littoral combat ship USS Canberra (LCS 30), lead a Freedom of Entry parade in Canberra, Australia, July 23. Freedom of Entry is an honor granted to military units that bestows the right to parade through the city streets on ceremonial occasions and be present at official functions and ceremonies. In accordance with military law and tradition, this gives the unit the right to march through the streets with swords drawn, bayonets fixed, drums beating, bands playing, and ensign flying.
