World War II era military vehicles line up to take guests of the “Strictly GI” memorial service into the Mußbach forest near Neustadt, Germany, to see the exact crash site of the fallen B-17G Flying Fortress aircraft, July 28, 2023. The ceremony consisted of 86th Airlift Wing group commanders, German Luftwaffe from NATO Allied Air Command, local civic leaders and members from the Rhineland-Pfalz Historical Research Community to honor the American aviators and their descendants.
