Descendants of the aircrew that belonged to the B-17G Flying Fortress, “Strictly GI,” crashed aircraft, read along with the translated German speeches memorializing their ancestors service in the Mußbach forest near Neustadt, Germany, at the exact crash site, July 28, 2023. The ceremony brought the living relatives of the aircrew to remember and celebrate their sacrifices since the crash site’s discovery in 2019 and further strengthen bonds between Germany and the United States.
