A guest of the “Strictly GI” memorial service takes a photo of a U.S. Air Force C-130J Super Hercules aircraft flyover at the Mußbach forest near Neustadt, Germany, honoring the crash site of the fallen B-17G Flying Fortress aircraft, July 28, 2023. The ceremony consisted of 86th Airlift Wing group commanders, German Luftwaffe from NATO Allied Air Command, local civic leaders and members from the Rhineland-Pfalz Historical Research Community to honor the American aviators and their descendants.
