U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Melina Arciniega, an Air National Guard member assigned to the 168th Wing, Eielson Air Force Base, Alaska, deployed to the 506th Expeditionary Aerial Refueling Squadron, prepares a KC-135 Stratotanker to unload cargo for the 101st Air Refueling Wing’s advanced echelon (ADVON ) team at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Oct. 28th, 2023. ADVON team members from the 101st ARW deployed from Bangor Air National Guard Base, Maine, to Guam to support refueling tankers and crew that will become a part of the 506th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron by replacing the 171st Air Refueling Wing, an ANG unit deployed from Pittsburgh International Airport, Pennsylvania. The 506th EARS is comprised of deployed ANG units that complete 90-day rotations providing in-air fuel support for Bomber Task Force and other aircraft in the Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility.
