U.S. Air Force members from the 101st Air Refueling Wing and 171st Air Refueling Wing unload advanced echelon (ADVON ) team baggage and cargo from a KC-135 Stratotanker on Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, Oct. 28, 2023. The ADVON team for the 101st ARW deployed from Bangor Air National Guard Base, Maine, to Guam to support refueling tankers and crew that will become a part of the 506th Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron by replacing the 171st Air Refueling Wing, an ANG unit deployed from Pittsburgh International Airport, Pennsylvania. The 506th EARS is comprised of deployed ANG units that complete 90-day rotations providing in-air fuel support for Bomber Task Force and other aircraft in the Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility.
