Dr. Lauren Santini, a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) Scientific Recovery Expert (SRE) and Forensic Archeologist, describes the measures necessary taken to protect the site from rain damage to U.S. Army Lt. Col. Travis Walter, DPAA Detachment 2 Commander, during a recovery mission in Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nov. 30, 2023. During every recovery mission, the countries respective detachment commander visits each team to see the progress made and gather information on any necessities or developmental feedback.
