DPAA Conducts Recovery Mission in Vietnam

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Dydra Cook, Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) radio frequency transmission NCO, pushes dirt into a dirt catch during a recovery mission in Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nov. 23, 2023. When dig units lay at the edge of a wall, dirt catches are constructed with tarps and sandbags to contain the dirt without contaminating surrounding units or loosing any potential evidentiary material. There are currently 1,578 personnel missing from the Vietnam War. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Ariel Owings)
