A POW/MIA flag hangs in a wet screening station during a recovery mission in Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Nov. 30, 2023. The flag represents all U.S. personnel who have been lost or are still missing to this day from past conflicts. It is also a symbol of Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) that signifies the promise to provide the fullest possible accounting of missing personnel to their families and the nation. There are currently 1,578 personnel missing from the Vietnam War. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Ariel Owings)
