U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Nathan Fiorucci gives a hand signal to the crew of a U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter with 2nd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade and U.S. Marines with 3d Littoral Combat Team, 3d Marine Littoral Regiment, 3d Marine Division that the landing zone is clear for helicopter operations on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Dec. 14, 2023. The operation was part of the final qualification test of a Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques Master Course led by III Expeditionary Operations Training Group, based in Okinawa, Japan, who travelled to Hawaii to certify Marines with 3d LCT. With the certification, HRST Masters can train Marines to safely and effectively perform helicopter insertions and extractions, rappels, and other rope techniques.
