U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Ryan Mitchum runs to a rally point after fast roping from a U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk Helicopter with 2nd Battalion, 25th Aviation Regiment, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade on Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Dec. 14, 2023. The helicopter operation was part of the final qualification test of a Helicopter Rope Suspension Techniques Master Course led by III Expeditionary Operations Training Group, based in Okinawa, Japan, who travelled to Hawaii to certify Marines with 3d Littoral Combat Team. With the certification, HRST Masters can train Marines to safely and effectively perform helicopter insertions and extractions, rappels, and other rope techniques.
