Infantes de Marina de Colombia (Colombian Marines) bow their heads in formation during the invocation for the recruit swearing in ceremony at the Base de Entrenamiento de Marina in Coveñas, Colombia, Jan 11, 2023. For the first time in Colombian history, 60 women completed the Juramento de Bandera de Infantes de Marina after they completed three months of recruit training and joined the ranks in the Colombian Naval Infantry. U.S. Marines attended the ceremony to show solidarity and support partner nations’ significant contributions to the principles of Women, Peace, and Security and to demonstrate unwavering support for the women Naval Infantry graduates.
