A U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II assigned to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 122, Marine Aircraft Group 13, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, conducts a forward arming and refueling during Integrated Training Exercise 2-24 at the Strategic Expeditionary Landing Field, Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center, Twentynine Palms, California Feb. 7, 2024. Forward arming and refueling extends the capabilities of rotary or fixed wing aircraft to allow rearming and refueling of the aircraft without having to return to a forward operating base. Marines with VMFA-122 conducted air delivered ground refueling and ordnance operations with support from Marine Aerial Refueler Transport Squadron (VMGR) 352, MAG-11, 3rd MAW.
