    The installation of 500 LED street lights in the Al-Qahtaniya neighborhood has been completed based on the locations identified by the residents of Tel Uzair and Al-Wardiya where lighting would make them feel safer.

    Within the first month of this initiative, approximately 200 Yezidi families returned to their homes in Tel Uzir and Al-Wardiya. One of Al-Qahtaniya’s residents mentioned: “We feel much safer because of the lighting, and our children play and study under the lights at night.”

    USAID, through the Ta'afi program, proudly supports vulnerable communities, aiding them in overcoming infrastructure challenges during ongoing returns and strengthening their resilience.
