Kudos to the four Iraqi environmental activists who highlighted the impact of water scarcity on Iraq's marshes at COP28 in Dubai. Using visuals produced with support from USAID, they engaged experts, journalists, and officials at the Iraqi pavilion, spotlighting challenges of sustaining marshes and livelihoods, as well as the crucial role of women in Iraq’s preservation efforts.
Within Iraq, these activists call for action by leading media campaigns and volunteer initiatives as well as participating in scientific studies and policy discussions. USAID is committed to enabling the voice of Iraqi activists in local, national and global climate change efforts.
