240515-N-NS135-1276 (May 16, 2024) GULF OF GUINEA – A Ghana Navy rigid-hulled inflatable boat (RHIB) comes alongside Comandanti-class patrol ship ITS Comandante Bettica to deliver a boarding party consisting of Obangame Express 2024 instructors from the U.S. Coast Guard Tactical Law Enforcement Team (TACLET) and Royal Netherlands Marine Corps Reconnaissance Sniper Team and trainees from the Ghana Navy and Ghana Police Service while rehearsing a joint maritime boarding and interdiction training demonstration between Obangame Express 2024 and Flintlock 2024.
During Exercise Obangame Express 2024, the 13th rendition of the exercise, partner and allied forces collaborate to enhance collective maritime law enforcement capabilities, bolster national and regional security in West Africa, and foster greater interoperability among U.S., African, and multinational partners. Exercise Flintlock helps to strengthen the defense readiness of African partners and regional organizations in addressing security threats.
