240515-N-NS135-1234 (May 15, 2024) GULF OF GUINEA – A team of Ghana Navy Special Boat Service special forces operators move through the passageways of Comandanti-class patrol ship ITS Comandante Bettica (P 492) with weapons trained while rehearsing a joint anti-piracy and maritime interdiction training scenario between Obangame Express 2024 and Flintlock 2024.
During Exercise Obangame Express 2024, the 13th rendition of the exercise, partner and allied forces collaborate to enhance collective maritime law enforcement capabilities, bolster national and regional security in West Africa, and foster greater interoperability among U.S., African, and multinational partners.
Exercise Flintlock helps to strengthen the defense readiness of African partners and regional organizations in addressing security threats.
