Elmer Allyger, hailing from Lancaster, Pennsylvania, assigned to 10th Mountain Division Artillery at the Mission Training Complex, on Fort Drum, New York, July 16, 2024. Allyger was recognized for his participation in Arcane Thunder, Combined Resolve- 19, and his completion of Air Assault and the Norwegian Ruck March while deployed to Romania. A military custom known as a challenge coin is presented to a recipient to recognize and honor excellence and hard work, as well as fosters a sense of unit pride, and enhances esprit de corps.
