Sgt. Christian Impere stands over the summit marker for Esther Mountain on Aug. 21, 2024. Sgt. Impere and the rest of Team 16 of the Commando Summit were responsible for climbing Esther Mountain and Whiteface Mountain as the 2nd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division, attempted to send soldiers to summit all 46 high peaks of the Adirondacks.
