New York City native Utilitiesman Constructionman Larry Cooper, assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, prepares 4th Grade students of Aplaya Elementary School Puerto Princesa for their scheduled examination. Seabees of Civic Construction Activity Detail (CCAD) Philippines are routinely asked by the school principal to assist with English and Math classes at the school where the job site is located. Seabees conduct CCAD operations like this one in order to demonstrate U.S. commitment, develop enduring relationships, improve public infrastructure for the delivery of essential services, and strengthen local institutions with host and partner nations around the world.
