Steelworker 2nd Class Jared Duckett from Blissfield, Michigan (left), Builder 3rd Class Brandon Shortridge from Norfolk, Virginia (left center), and Builder 2nd Class Darcus Coleman from Kapolei, Hawaii (right), all assigned to Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5, play a local game with the students of Aplaya Elementary School during lunchtime at the school campus. The NMCB 5 Construction Civic Activity Detail (CCAD) Philippines is constructing a two-classroom masonry building for the Aplaya Elementary School. Seabees conduct CCAD operations like this one in order to demonstrate U.S. commitment, develop enduring relationships, improve public infrastructure for the delivery of essential services, and strengthen local institutions with host and partner nations around the world.
