Spc. Tyler Duval, a recruiter with the Recruiting and Retention Battalion, New Hampshire Army National Guard, conducts the basic fitness test (BFT) during the German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency (GAFPB) on September 7, 2024, at the Edward Cross Training Complex in Pembroke, N.H. The German Armed Forces Badge for Military Proficiency or, in German, “Das Abzeichen für Leistungen im Truppendienst” is a decoration of the Bundeswehr, the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Germany, and is awarded to members of allied armed forces who successfully complete a series of physical and military skill tests. The Basic Fitness Test (BFT) features an 11x10-meter sprint, a timed flexed-arm hang, and a 1,000-meter run. (U.S. Army National Guard photo by Sgt. Kelly Boyer, 114th Public Affairs Detachment)
