YOKOSUKA, Japan (Sept. 27, 2024) – Chief Information Systems Technician Derrick Damien, from Hemet, California, was pinned by family members during a chief pinning ceremony at the Benny Decker Theater on Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Sept. 27, 2024. Thirteen selectees were promoted to chief petty officer during the pinning ceremony. The U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and routinely operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific.
