YOKOSUKA, Japan (Sept. 27, 2024) – Chief Retail Services Specialist April Purugganan, from Cainta, Rizal, Philippines, assigned to U.S. 7th Fleet flagship USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19), had his cover placed by a fellow chief during a chief pinning ceremony at the Benny Decker Theater on Commander, Fleet Activities Yokosuka, Sept. 27, 2024. Thirteen selectees were promoted to chief petty officer during the pinning ceremony. Blue Ridge is the oldest operational ship in the Navy and routinely operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific.
