PHILIPPINE SEA (Aug. 23, 2024) – Boatswain's Mate Second Class Noel Saligumba of Las Vegas, Nevada signals the landing of an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter onto the flight deck of Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65) in support of the command’s mobility-aviation (MOB-A) Certification. MOB-A Events included day and night landing qualification, vertical replenishment, and Helicopter In-Flight Refueling (HIFR). Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron Five One, also known as "Warlords," is a United States Navy helicopter squadron stationed at Naval Air Facility Atsugi, located in Ayase City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Honshu, Japan. Benfold is forward-deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force. (U.S. Navy photo by Fireman Yeudiel S. Bernal).
