    PHILIPPINE SEA (Aug. 23, 2024) – Gas Turbine Systems Technician Second Class Kevin Gutierrez of Edinburg, Texas prepares for Mobility-Aviation night landing qualification aboard Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Benfold (DDG 65). As Refueling Crewman, Petty Officer Gutierrez handles helicopter refueling equipment and the safe transfer of fuel while aircraft are on deck. Petty Officer Gutierrez is a graduate of Robert Vela High School. Other Mobility-Aviation events included day landing qualification, vertical replenishment, and Helicopter In-Flight Refueling (HIFR). Helicopter Maritime Strike Squadron Five One, also known as "Warlords," is a United States Navy helicopter squadron stationed at Naval Air Facility Atsugi, located in Ayase City, Kanagawa Prefecture, Honshu, Japan. Benfold is forward-deployed and assigned to Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 15, the Navy’s largest DESRON and the U.S. 7th Fleet’s principal surface force. (U.S. Navy photo by Fireman Yeudiel S.
