Soldiers with the Uganda People's Defence Force assemble and receive instructions from Army Sgt. Daniel LeGeer at the starting point of a 5.4 mile run that is part of a squad competition at Forward Operating Location Kasenyi, Uganda, April 3, 2008. The soldiers are training with members of the 1st Battalion, 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, deployed from Ft. Myer, Va. The timed squad competition requires the UPDF soldiers to demonstration their ability along a 5.4 mile course providing medical care in the field, plotting five terrain features on a map, calling in a "Nine Line" report, giving a S.A.L.U.T.E. report, as well as completing an obstacle coarse and conducting a stress shoot on the range.
