Soldiers with the Uganda Peoples Defence Force are running 5.4 miles as part of a squad competition at Forward Operating Location Kasenyi, Uganda, April 3, 2008. The soldiers are training with members of the The 1st Battalion, 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment, deployed from Ft. Myer, Va. The timed squad competition requires the UPDF soldiers to demonstrate their ability along a 5.4 mile course providing medical care in the field, plotting five terrain features on a map, calling in a "Nine Line" report, giving a S.A.L.U.T.E. report, as well as completing an obstacle course and conducting a stress shoot on the range.
