Norfolk Naval Shipyard Temporary Services (Shop 99) Pipefitter Apprentice Mackenzie Morris is performing a hydrostatic test on valves. Morris’s short term goal is to graduate the apprenticeship program within the year. “The apprenticeship program is a great way to better oneself," he said. "I went from making donuts for a local bakery to fixing equipment that will be used aboard U.S. Navy warships. It’s like serving my country without wearing a uniform.”
