OKINAWA, Japan (Jan. 29, 2025) Quartermaster 3rd Class Kailah Shelton, from Houston, Texas, assigned to the Whidbey Island-class dock landing ship USS Rushmore (LSD 47), stands watch as port bearing taker as the ship departs White Beach Naval Facility in Okinawa, Japan, Jan. 29. Rushmore, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
