From left, Sylvia Guerrero, Cpt. Molly Slattery, and Moe Adams staff a table to assist residents of Altadena in Los Angeles County with the documents and procedures required for fire debris removal. Guerrero and Adams, both with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District, are dedicating long hours in Southern California to provide crucial support for community recovery following the Los Angeles County Wildfires. Debris removal began in mid-February, with the first parcel cleared, and the process continues to accelerate as more equipment and personnel are brought in. Cleanup is expected to continue for at least a year.
Guerrero, who normally works as a lead park ranger at Success Lake, is currently working as an Eaton-area outreach specialist, While Adams, normally a senior construction representative, for the Natomas Resident Office has volunteered to work with the Districts Deployable Tactical Operations System team. Slattery normally works as a program manager for John Cochran VA Hospital.
