U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District’s Vu Cao normally works in Quality Assurance (QA) with the Natomas Resident Office Sacramento District. However, Cao is currently working as a QA in Altadena, California, as part of the Los Angeles County Wildfire Debris Removal Mission. Cao said this is his first deployment ever. “I wanted to apply my skills as a QA in a different environment and take myself out of my comfort zone. As a QA in the field, I am able to work comfortably with contractors in order to confirm the process is being done correctly and that sites are being cleaned completely per contract requirements,” he said.
