Soldiers from 2nd Battalion, 22nd Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, participate in a combat training exercise demonstration at the newly dedicated Jared C. Monti Soldier and Squad Research Facility, Apr. 7, 2025, in Natick Soldier Systems Center, Massachusetts. Monti deployed with 3rd Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI) to Afghanistan, where he was killed in action on June 21, 2006, while attempting to rescue a wounded Soldier under heavy enemy fire. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor—the second 10th Mountain Division Soldier to receive the Nation’s highest military honor. The facility dedicated to Monti features state-of-the-art technology and training methodologies designed to enhance the individual Soldier's and squad's combat readiness. (U.S. Army photo by Pfc.
