CBRNE Response Teams from the 22nd Chemical Battalion (Technical Escort) competed in a PMCS, or preventive maintenance checks and services, inspection on the Humvee June 5 and at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md. Soldiers, like Sgt. Antron Campbell (left) and Staff Sgt. Matthew Reid, from Team 4, 68th Chemical Company, had to use a weekly checklist to spot five maintenance issues. The discrepancies taken right out of the training manual under the “not fully mission capable if … ” column, were: loose alternate and battery cables, and missing wheel lugs, side view mirror and door handle. This team was the first to go and found three faults. But they filled the form out correctly so that gave them some extra points. “I think it was beneficial because some of us don’t know how to do the PMCS properly,” said Campbell, 22, from Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
