Force reconnaissance platoon Marines with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit's maritime raid force (MRF) climb a caving ladder to board the S.S. Cape Avinoff on Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., Aug. 19, 2013. Marines and Sailors with the MRF conducted boarding and clearing drills as part of a visit, board, search and seizure course. The MEU is scheduled to deploy in early 2014 to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious missions across the full range of military operations.
