U.S. Marines and Sailors with the 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit's maritime raid force (MRF) set up to perform the hook and climb technique on the side of the S.S. Cape Avinoff at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Va., Aug. 19, 2013. Marines and Sailors with the MRF executed different boarding techniques as part of a visit, board, search and seizure course. The MEU is scheduled to deploy in early 2014 to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibility with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious missions across the full range of military operations.
