U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sgt. Smallwood, a force reconnaissance Marine with the maritime raid force, 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), carries a cutquik saw aboard the USAV Hobkirk during the visit, board, search and seizure course at Joint Base Langley-Eustice, Va., Aug. 28, 2013. The cutquik saw is mainly used for breaching blocked entryways aboard the confined area areas on ship. The MEU is scheduled to deploy in early 2014 to the U.S. 5th and 6th Fleet areas of responsibilities with the Bataan Amphibious Ready group as a sea base, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious operations across a full range of military operations.
