Marines with the Silent Drill Platoon prepare to remove bayonets from M1 Garand rifles after their performance March 19, 2014, on Parris Island, S.C. The platoon performed nearly 15 minutes of unique drill movements without verbal commands. More than 1,000 recruits, Marines and civilians gathered at Peatross Parade Deck to witness the performance. The platoon is attached to the Battle Color Detachment, based at Marine Barracks Washington, D.C., which traveled to more than 15 different locations across the country in March 2014 for a tour.
