Sgt. 1st Class Fred Hampton, a native of Lexington, Ky., carries an illegally owned AK-47 rifle confiscated during an Iraqi army-led patrol in the Sadr City District of Baghdad Oct. 3, 2008. Hampton serves as the platoon sergeant for second platoon, Company C, 1st Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, which is currently attached to 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division – Baghdad.
