While under attack at the gate as part of a base defense exercise, Cpt. Michael Riha, from Rochester Hills, Mich., directs Staff Sgt. Kenneth Moore, from Tuscola, Ill., on a plan of action. The exercise is one of many that 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team Soldiers will have to accomplish at Forward Operating Base Patriot on Fort Bragg, NC before going overseas. The 33rd IBCT is mobilizing to Afghanistan later this year and expects to return to Illinois late next year.
