USNS Lewis and Clark (T-AKE 1) crew members on-load more than 1,100 pallets of food, water and supplies for delivery to people affected by a 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti Jan. 12. Fleet Industrial Supply Corps (FISC) Mayport and the Navy Food Management Team coordinated the on-load for Lewis and Clark prior to their deployment to Haiti. Lewis and Clark is conducting humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations for Operation Unified Response under control of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command and U.S. Fourth Fleet (NAVSO/C4F). NAVSO/C4F is directing all Naval assets and personnel in support of Joint Task Force Haiti, the joint command element directing U.S. military capabilities support to USAID and the U.N.
