Los Angeles native Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class (SW) Devan Ebanks prepares to take a lumbar spine X-ray of a patient aboard USNS Comfort (T-AH 20). The man is one of 958 earthquake victims medical professionals aboard the hospital ship have seen since arriving off the coast of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, last month to support Operation Unified Response. Since then, 837 have been successfully treated and released from Comfort to discharge centers or to after care facilities run by nongovernmental organization volunteers and the local government.
