In this undated photograph provided by Bobby Feuillyoke, who was a 13-year-old boy on June 6, 1944 living in Vierville, France, Robert Wright Sr. is pictured standing on the very spot where he landed after parachuting from the C-47 aircraft he made the cross-channel invasion on. Wright Sr., along with fellow 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment medic Kenneth Moore, converted the church in Angoville-au-Plain, France, into a makeshift first aid station, providing aid to some 80 American and German soldiers as well as a local child from the village.
