A damage control hose team comprised of repair lockers 5 Alpha and 5 Main, man an Aqueous Film Forming Foam hose to simulate combating a “Class Bravo” fire in the well deck of the forward-deployed amphibious assault ship USS Essex (LHD 2). Essex, commanded by Capt. Brent Canady, is the lead ship of the only forward-deployed expeditionary strike group and serves as the flagship for CTF 76, the Navy's only forward-deployed amphibious force commander.
