Medal of Honor recipient Allen James Lynch of Gurnee, Ill., delivers the keynote address to veterans, family member and the public during a Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park, College of Lake County, Grayslake, Ill., Friday, May 22. Lynch received the nation's highest honor for gallantry and intrepidity in action which occurred Dec. 15, 1967, in My An, Vietnam, where he was a Spec. 4 radio operator. The Naval Station Armory, Training Support Center, Great Lakes Color Guard and Navy Band Great Lakes participated in the ceremony.
