Navy Diver 1st Class (DSW) Michael Taylor of Atlantic City, N.J., monitors an unmanned robotic platform during the Space and Navy Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) Systems Center Pacific underwater autonomous robotics competition for student engineers at its TRANSDEC pool, a unique research facility on Point Loma, Calif. Thirty teams representing various colleges in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Korea, and India, along with two high school teams are competing for top honors in the 12th annual running of the competition July 31-Aug 2.
