Latvian Defense Force Army Maj. Janis Svilpe and Latvian National Guard Pvt. Priedite is a new recruit to the Latvian National Guard and earned the opportunity to come to the United States to visit military installations when she was selected as the top competitor in a "best ranger" type of event held in Latvia earlier this summer.
