Maj. Matthew Kimmel, 2nd Battalion 149th General Support Aviation Battalion Logistics officer from Corpus Christi, Texas, received a Meritorious Service Medal at an award ceremony on Joint Base Balad, Iraq, on May 5. Awards were given by Maj. Thomas Lewis, 2-149th GSAB executive officer. The Meritorious Service Medal is given to those who have distinguished themselves by outstanding non-combat meritorious achievement in a designated combat theatre.
