Sgt. 1st Class John Steele, 2nd Battalion 149th General Support Aviation Battalion Standardizations non-commissioned officer from Edmond, Okla., received an Air Medal at an award ceremony on Joint Base Balad, Iraq, on May 5. Awards were given by Capt. Carisa Kimbro, 2-149th GSAB Headquarters Company Commander. An Air Medal is given to recognize those who are on current crew member flying status which requires them to participate in aerial flight on a regular and frequent basis in the performance of their primary duties.
